A Basic Look at How Layer Masks Work in Photoshop

When working on an illustration or a photo. It is always best to use layer masks when masking out pieces of your art. The reason you use layer masks is to preserve the pixels so if at any point you decide to bring back the pixels, you can.

Layer masks allow you to “erase” so to speak. However, at the same time you can “un-erase” without losing any data. Watch the video to see the demonstration.
