The shinny glass buttons. Seems like every web site you go to has those glass buttons that make the web page stand out with a little bit of a pop. Even though I think the glass buttons that you see on the Internet might be a little over used. It’s still fun to create..

So, if your question is… How do I create glass buttons?? There are a lot of tutorials out there that show you how to create glass buttons using Photoshop. However have you ever thought of using Adobe Illustrator to accomplish this task. Well, I would love to show you.

The good thing about using illustrator is, you can swap out colors easily on the fly without having to edit to much. Watch the video and you will see just how easy it is to create glass buttons in Adobe Illustrator.

First you have to take and create your art into a Raster based program. Since Photoshop is the industry leader we will just use Adobe Photoshop as our example. So most likely you will have created your art in Photoshop.

Next what I will do is use Illustrator to vectorize my raster art. Some ask… Well how come I don’t just create my art in illustrator to begin with. There is no reason why you can’t just go and create your art in illustrator. However, I find it is a lot easer to create my art into Photoshop first before taking it into Adobe Illustrator. if you watch the video, you will see what I mean. its easer to show than to write.. So take a look at the video!
