I have found it very annoying to rename files or folders on the Mac by just double tapping on the mouse.  Most of the time when I do click in the folder/file and move my mouse away to select the folder again.  i find it more often then not, i can not get the folder/file to give me the options to edit.  Not only that but when I do a slow double tap the folder ends up opening.  So this can become very annoying.

Simple Way to Rename Folders/Files on the Mac OS X

There is a much quicker and consistent way to renaming your files or folders on the mac and that is to click on the folder or file.  After you have the file or folder selected just hit the Return or Enter Key (depending what keyboard you are using) This will then give you the options to rename or edit the folder/file.

If you don’t do a lot of renaming of files this might not seem like a big deal, but
